"After high school I attended the University of California at Santa Barbara. When it came time to choose a degree path I was unsure of what I wanted to do, so I consulted a career guidance counselor. She gave me a battery of tests. The results startled me, for every single one showed that I was born to be an artist."

"I transferred to a small art college in Spokane, Washington, and buried myself in my studies. After I had exhausted all the art classes I returned home to San Diego, intending to complete a fine arts degree, but I was offered an excellent position in the graphic design field."

"I retired shortly before my 50th birthday, after a long and successful career as a technical illustrator and publisher, so I could paint full time. I am currently studying with well-known Santa Cruz watercolorist Elizabeth Kincaid. She is an excellent instructor whose technique of meticulously applying layers of transparent color produces bright, luminescent painting. In the past I have always preferred oils and acrylics to watercolor. But with Elizabeth’s patient guidance I have fallen in love with this medium. My only problem these days is having more images that I long to paint than I have time in which to paint them! To see more of my work please log on to my website.
